If you are going to buy a computer or have you must heard about dual core quad core etc.
What all that means?
You might think that multi processors are faster than single processors.
Well, in some case of applications less core processors are faster than the much core.
OK, you might think now the processor performance only depends upon the speed of the processor.
Well, before you think something like that I will first make you understand that what is the difference between single core and multi core. After that you can easily differentiate which is best processor for you.
Difference between single core and multi core:
Let's you are collecting some sticks. You are very fast collecting them. But you have to collect them with one hand. This will be a slower process. This is called single core.
Now, you are allowed to collect with two hands. The process got faster. This is called multi core. More your hands means more the cores i.e, four hands for quad core.
This is also applicable for your PC. When you have opened a browser
You must think that, the multi core processors are faster and you should prefer always multi core.
Then, take another example. You have to write on a paper. And it's obviously that you can't write with your both hands. That time you must think that if you can use the power of your both hand in one hand you can write more faster.
As above the same, if you have only work with browser then you can work faster than multi core processors. Whereas multi core processors are more faster if you are using more than one task at a time or an application that use more functions at a time. Because, in single core processors the computer have to close one program to start another program and that is why if you are using a single core processor you must have found that when you have opened both video and browser you suffer from a bad slow responding process when you change your work.
Some applications like high end graphics Games, Photoshop etc. are using multi core whereas browsers, small games are using only one core.
Now the processors are more faster and multi core. So you don't have to be panic that your work may be effected. But yes, if you are a professional gamer or a video editor you must choose your processors of high speed with multi core.
Some high end processors like AMD vision giving 4 to 5 GHz and of 8 cores. Where as Intel gives you 4 to 4.5 Ghz and of may be dual core, quad core , hex core or octa core.
But Intel have a good cache ratio and a better accuracy as compared to AMD. Whereas AMD is 1/4 th of the rate of Intel.
So if you are going to buy a new PC first decide what is your main purpose and make these information apply to choose the processor.
