Choosing between a laptop and desktop is quite difficult. If you are going to buy a PC then, you must think which is better for you.
Well, I am going to describe this to help you making the decision.
Purpose:
If you are a student and you have many of your works in college campus, an entrepreneur or businessman you must need to carry Laptop. And this is the main advantage of the laptop over the desktop. Because, you don't need to carry a 15 kg system with you all the time.
But you don't need to move the PC so much then the desktop is best for you. Except the portability, Space and Power consumption you can't find any advantage over the Desktop.
1. Cost Efficiency: Desktops are cheaper than the Laptop. Whether the laptop prices Have gone down but they still have a big margin as compared to features they each provides.
2. Working Efficiency: Due to the need of portability laptop has to carry much things in less space. So the processors or other components used in the laptops are different than desktops. You can find the processor of core i3 is slower than that of the desktop.
3. Assemble Facility: You can assemble a desktop rather than buying one. This will cost you lesser and will offer you better components with more warranty periods. You can also add the things you want and omit the things that you need not. You can add them in future and also can upgrade them to the next generation rather buying another system. But with laptop you can't choose what you need or not. That's not mean they have only one thing in that. They have a large number of variety but you have to pay some extra money for those you need not at that time. And you can't upgrade the laptop. You have to buy another to use the future technology.
4. Life Expectancy: The life expectancy of the laptops are definitely low. As it is good enough to use a laptop for three years. But, for the desktop it may be of 15 years and you also don't need to change the while system if something gone damage. You can just replace that. You also can replace the components in the laptop but you can't upgrade them and those are very costly as compared to the desktop. Desktop parts are also provide you more warranty period than the laptop.
5. Using compatibility: Desktops are easy to use s you can adjust the keyboard, monitor and other components according to your comfortable use and this is very important if you are going to work for a long period of time. But in laptop you have to use the laptop as per the model and it is slightly difficult to use the mouse pad in the laptop for a newbie.
6. So, should I buy a laptop or a desktop?
This depends upon you what is the purpose you are going to buy the computers. If your main purpose is based on the movability and you have to keep your system all time with you then you must have to buy a laptop. But if this is don't your need I will recommend you to buy a desktop and don't get one pre assembled. Make assemble as per your need.
