It's crucial time for the net neutrality in India. TRAI (Telecom Regulatory of India) has published a consultation paper for framing regulation on the Over The Top services (OTT) or simply the third party internet services like Whatsapp, Hike etc.
These services offerings free video calls, voice calls, messaging over the Internet. Many Telecom industries are also complaining for this. They are complaining that they have to pay for spectrum License and Hardware requirements. But some websites and applications provides the services with no cost and it doesn't cost him any licensing cost. So it is very hard to make business in the India in such circumstances.
That is why some Telecom industries have been hiked their DATA plans to fulfill the lose in their voice calling market. They are also trying to focus on the DATA services.
If this happens that means in future some Telecom industries may be closed and for which the call rate may hike.
This is also have been noted that the conversation and communication through these services like Facebook are not reliable and violates the privacy of the users like as we all know that Facebook is now a CIA database.
So the TRAI has took a step and need some consult with many questions from the users. They releases 20 questions to know their opinions on this issue and for which they can take a step.
