India's one of the largest fashion shopping site is going to close it's desktop site. Yes, Myantra.com is going to unavailable for desktop from May1.
We all know about the Flipkart owned Myantra a year ago. According to Sachin Bansal, Co-founder of Flipkart it is now not returning the investment. Because, Myntra is work over India. According to some survey India access Internet from it's smartphone 9% of the total population in 2013 and will be reach 39% in 2020. Both flipkart and myantra are now gaining more traffic from the mobile apps. About 60% of their sales are from the mobile apps.
The mobile apps are so good as the company need not to spend something for the advertisement. It have been seen that a customer coming from the app get sticking to the app rather than visiting other website as this is very easy to access. By this way, company also get it's regular customers.
Well, this may be a revolution for the myantra as it is the first time that any company closed it's pc site and rely on it's mobile site and mobile apps.
